Final Considerations

To those of us who love the idea of generating electricity from the wind, there are few things, if any, in the world more rewarding than watching a wind turbine’s blades spin for the first time. Generating electricity from a clean, abundant and reliable source of energy is truly a thrill. The road from conception to installation of a turbine on a tower, however, can be long and arduous. The steps are summarized in Table 9.1. As you can see, so far we have only covered the first three steps. The rest of this chapter is devoted to the remaining steps.
